We know how frustrating it is when your performance is compromised by ice build up on your blade. As a dedicated player, I found that ice accumulation on the tape of my blade was a major hindrance to continuous, high-level play. Typically, after just 30 minutes into a couple-hour skate—especially when sharing the ice with many skaters whose deep carves generate significant "snow"—your stick's performance is severely degraded. This shaved ice quickly cakes up and freezes onto the blade, completely dulling the critical "feel" you have for the puck. Ultimately, this ice buildup diminishes your puck control, compromises your shot accuracy, and noticeably reduces your shot velocity.
